When and where does Church Relevant meet?

  • Church Relevant has two identical encounters each Sunday morning:  9:30 to 10:30 and 11 to noon.  We meet at 806 US HWY 70 East in New Bern, North Carolina. (directly across from the Bojangles in James City)

What should I wear?

  • It doesn't matter to us what you wear. But we'll be in our favorite pair of jeans. (you know, the ones that make our butts look great)

Is it acceptable for men to watch "Glee"?

  • Glad you asked that. Unfortunately, this is one of those controversial questions that may be unanswerable. However, we firmly  believe that if a man chooses to watch Glee in the privacy of his own living room, he should probably take that secret to the grave.

What style of music do you sing?

  • Kristian Stanfill, Hillsong United, David Crowder, Charlie Hall, etc. (Please don't misunderstand, these guys don't actually come here...we just sing their songs)

How long is the service?

  • 1 hour. Anything longer than that and our a.d.d. starts to kick in.

Why do you call your church service an encounter?

  • Every time we meet we hope to encounter God. (And it just sounds kinda cool.)

Why do the vampires in Twilight seem to sparkle?

  • We have no idea...seems very unvampire like, though.

What denomination are you?

  • Seriously? Are people still asking that question? We are a non-denominational church.

How is Church Relevant governed?

  • Church Relevant is a staff led church that is accountable to and supported by a team of elders.  Our team of elders offer spiritual oversight, pastoral support and accountability, prayer covering, and budget approval to the ministry of Church Relevant.  In addition, Church Relevant belongs to the Association of Related Churches and Church Foundational Network. Church Relevant also has a Board of Overseers in place in case Bryan goes all crazy, builds a compound, and takes eight wives.

Is American Idol still cool?

  • Uhhhh, no.
